Boat-people widersetzen sich gewaltsamer Rückführung nach Libyen
Dreißig Boat-people konnte die „OOC Panther“, das Handelsschiff einer Hamburger Rederei, am Sonnabend vor der libyschen Küste retten, nachdem diese in Seenot geraten waren. Bewaffnete Angehörige der sog. libyschen Küstenwache hätten daraufhin versucht, die Geretteten von Bord zu holen und nach Libyen zurückzubringen. Das hätte Panik bei den Boat-people ausgelöst. Zwei Menschen seien von Bord gesprungen, ein weiterer Mann habe sich mit Benzin übergossen und gedroht, sich anzuzünden, wenn er zur Rückkehr gezwungen würde. Alle drei seien inzwischen aber wieder wohlauf, berichten zwei Angehörige der „Ocean Viking“, die vom Kapitän der „OOC Panther“ zu Hilfe gerufen worden war.
