Zeitgleich zum Auslaufen des italienischen NGO-Rettungsschiffs „Mare Jonio“ hat die sogenannte libysche Küstenwache ihre Arbeit als externe Push-Back-Agentur der EU wieder aufgenommen. Über Wochen hatten die Küstenmilizen die Patrouillenschiffe stattdesssen für den Krieg eingesetzt. In der Nacht von Dienstag auf Mittwoch fangen sie 98 Boat-people ab und deportierten sie zurück in ein Internierungslager bei Khoms, wie MSF und Mediterranea Saving Humans melden.
Laut Alarmphone sollen die vorgestern in Seenot geratenen 23 Boat-people von Fischern nach Libyen zurück gebracht worden sein. Der telefonische Kontakt zu den Geflüchteten war abgebrochen. Die italienische Seenotrettungsstelle gab keine Informationen heraus.

Less than 48 hrs after UNHCR evacuated 146 #refugees & #migrants out of #Libya, another 98 people were forced back to the country after being intercepted at sea. They disembarked in Khoms around 2am today, where MSF provided medical care. They are now back in detention.

Libyan Coast Guard rescues 96 migrants at sea
[…] The International Organization for Migration (IOM) confirmed that the Libyan Coast Guard stopped two boats on Tuesday and the third one on Wednesday, with113 migrants aboard, before transferring them to the cities of Zuwara and Khoms in the west, away from the frontline in Tripoli, where they were accommodated in detention centres.
