Nach Dezember 2017 mit zwei Toten ist erneut ein Kohleschaufler in einem Stollen im ostmarokkanischen Jerada umgekommen. Die marokkanische Regierung hatte Ende der 1990er Jahre die Bergwerke geschlossen und damit 9.000 Bergleute in die Arbeitslosigkeit entlassen. In absoluter Armut graben Viele selbständig weiter.
